This page explains what information may be collected when you browse the site, write to us, subscribe, or buy a digital product. We use information to provide the service you ask for, respond to you, and operate the site. The details depend partly on the services used for checkout and delivery.
Information we receive
- Messages and forms: the name, email address, order details, and message you choose to send through a contact or refund form.
- Subscriptions: the email address you give when you sign up for updates, along with subscription preferences.
- Orders: information needed to confirm a purchase, deliver the product, support your order, or handle a refund. The checkout provider may process payment details under its own policy.
- Diagnose text: what you type in the diagnose box is stored anonymously - the text, the detected category, a safety flag, and a timestamp, with no IP address or personal details - and used in aggregate to improve our content and decide future guides. Please do not include personal details in it.
- Site use: technical data such as device/browser details, IP address, and page requests may be recorded by hosting and security services.
We do not ask for veterinary records or other sensitive information in our forms. Please avoid putting them in a support message unless needed to explain your question.
How information is used
We use information to send files or access information after a purchase, answer support requests, handle refunds, send updates you asked to receive, maintain the site, and protect it from abuse. Marketing messages should be sent only if you sign up for them; purchase or support messages are separate from marketing.
Services involved
Hosting, form delivery, email/newsletter, checkout, digital delivery, and security providers may process the information necessary for their role. This site currently uses Cloudflare for hosting, FormSubmit for its contact and refund forms, and Substack for newsletter sign-ups. The checkout and delivery services have not yet been selected; their names and links must be added here before sales begin. Each provider has its own privacy practices.
How long information is kept
Information is kept only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for, including support, order records, refunds, security, and any applicable recordkeeping requirements. The exact periods vary by record and provider. You can ask about a particular record through the contact page.
Your choices and requests
You can unsubscribe using the link in a newsletter email. For questions, access, correction, or deletion requests, contact us. Some order or transaction records may need to be kept where required to run the service or comply with applicable obligations. We may ask for enough information to verify that a request concerns your own data.
Security and changes
We use service providers and reasonable measures to protect information, but no online service can promise perfect security. If this policy changes, the current version will be posted here with an updated date. For privacy questions, send a message.
